During the summer my family and I like to do a "Moon light" hike to the top. Once the snow is melted (not safe when there is snow), you choose a night with no clouds and a full moon. You can hike the entire trip up in a couple hours from one of the upper parking areas. You should bring a flashlight, but with the moon you don't really need it. Quite a view from the top with everything lite by moonlight. It's pretty popular so there are always some other groups doing the same, but I've never seen it at all crowded. Well worth trying!
